Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Treatments are commonly performed by non-dental professionals with no formal dental background. Due to their lack of professional expertise, they can only offer up to 6% Hydrogen Peroxide treatments.
This is the same level that is contained in Teeth Whitening kits and strips at the supermarket, ie. HiSmile
Professional Teeth Whitening Treatments are performed by AHPRA-registered Dental Practitioners and who are recognised by the Australian Dental Board. This does not include dental assistants.
At The Gemist Hub, our clinicians are Oral Health Therapists who have completed a 3 year Bachelor’s in Oral Health Therapy.
As such, we offer up to 44% strengths and can fully customise your Treatment Plan based your Medical and Dental Health.

A Teeth Whitening Specialist is an individual who is trained in performing Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Treatment with a limitation of 6%. They generally do not hold a dental degree or have formal dental qualification.
All that is required to qualify as a Teeth Whitening Specialist is a one-day practical or online course.
Teeth Whitening Specialists are NOT recognised as part of the collective of dental professionals.
